Google / Discord / Apple / Facebook / X(Twitter) OAuth 로그인.
Ctrl+O
(Auto Body Split)
(Pen Cutout) P
(Color Cutout) C
(Lineart Cutout) A
(Restore Background)
(Zoom) Z
Del.
(Brush) B
(Clone Stamp) S
(Smudge) R
(Eraser) E
(Magic Eraser) Shift+E
(Anti-alias)
(Lasso) L
(Content Fill) Shift+I
(Inpainting) I
이미지는 Google(Gemini API)로, 필요할 때 Replicate(FLUX Fill)로 전송됩니다(툴바의 ⓘ 외부 전송을 누르면 데이터 처리 요약서).
FLUX Fill
(Lineart)
Ctrl+[/Ctrl+]:

anysplit Manual
Character illustration layer-splitting tool · Official documentation
1. Overview
anysplit is an intelligent graphic editor that splits character illustrations into layered parts, creating PSD files ready for skeleton animation. What used to take 8 hours of manual work now takes under 10 minutes.
Google / Discord / Apple / Facebook / X(Twitter) OAuth login. New accounts receive the Trial plan (300 credits) automatically.
In-app browsers (KakaoTalk, Instagram, etc.) block Google login. Tap the menu (⋮) and choose "Open in browser."
2.2 Upload Image
Click the Upload icon in the left sidebar, or press Ctrl+O
Drag and drop files onto the canvas area
PSD uploads: existing layers are automatically extracted and loaded in the Layer tab. Each layer's blend mode (Multiply, Screen, Overlay, …) and opacity are kept too, so the preview, merges and PSD export show them, and the layer list shows the mode's name. Layers in modes that cannot be computed (Hue, Saturation, Color, Luminosity and similar) come in with the pixels of the original composite
PSDs with too many layers — how many layers can be opened depends on the canvas size (about 200 at 4000×6000, for example). When a PSD with folders goes over that, a Merge PSD folders dialog opens before the upload so you can merge folders into one layer each, like Photoshop's Merge Group. Pick a rule (each top-level folder / a depth / a marker at the end of the name / a regex) and it shows how far the layer count drops before you merge; folders it cannot reproduce exactly (layer effects, adjustment layers and the like) are left as they are. The file is processed in this browser only
The same merge is available in the PSD Folder Merge tool, opened from the Many-layer PSD? Merge its folders first → link on the upload screen. It is free (no credits) and needs a sign-in; download the merged PSD or open it straight in anysplit
Session persists for 30 minutes after upload
3. Workspace
Left sidebar — tool selection
Center canvas — image + mask preview
Right panel — layer preview (top) + layer/history list (bottom tabs)
The Original tab shows segmentation tools; the Layer tab shows editing tools.
Magnifier (loupe) — turn it on with the magnifier button at the right of the tab bar or the M key: a circular window follows the cursor and magnifies the area around it (relative to the current on-screen zoom). Handy for precise cutout and editing; press again to turn off.
Progress bar — for long operations such as image upload, Auto Body Split and restore, a progress bar appears in the middle of the canvas with the current step shown right below it.
Cursor position — the right end of the status bar shows the cursor's pixel position on the canvas: in original-image pixels on the Original tab, in that layer's image pixels on a Layer tab. It is cleared when you switch tabs. Press Alt+C (Option+C on Mac) to copy it to the clipboard as (x, y) — handy when reporting a spot.
4. Original Tab Tools
4.1 Auto Body Split
Use — a one-click starting point that splits the character into body-part layers. e.g. Create hair, face, eyes, top and bottom layers automatically, then touch up only the edges that need it with Smart Cutout and the layer tools.
Click Auto Body Split in the left sidebar (between Upload and Smart Cutout). An AI body-part model (See-through) finds the parts, snaps their edges to the line art, and adds one layer per part.
A confirmation first shows the credits it will use and your balance; it starts only when you click Split
If you do not have enough credits, a notice appears and the pricing window opens
While it runs, the canvas progress bar shows the step (finding parts → removing the background → snapping edges to the line art → cleaning up pieces and holes → creating layers)
Layers are named after the part (hair, face, topwear, …). The nose and mouth are not split out; they stay part of face
The eyes are not split into white, iris and lashes; they stay one eyes layer
Hands, legs and shoes (handwear, legwear, footwear) are split into R / L. R is the character's own right, so it is the one on the left of the screen
A large piece that belongs to no part, such as a prop the character holds, becomes an objects layer (on plain or transparent backgrounds only)
Pixels already in a layer are left out. If no new part is found, or the split fails, no credits are used
It splits the original image, so the menu is hidden on a Layer tab
Credits: 50 credits up to 1024×1024, then 24 more per 1024 px of side — 2048×2048 = 74, 4096×4096 = 122
Layer decomposition powered by See-through (SIGGRAPH 2026)
4.2 Smart Cutout W
Use — The main tool for separating large parts fastest — the AI finds the boundary from a click or drag. e.g. click the face, hair, and top in turn to split them into layers in seconds.
AI-powered (SAM2) automatic part segmentation. The primary tool.
Left-click: create mask / Right-click or Alt+click: remove mask
The toolbar's size slider changes the Box Size too (same steps as the wheel and [/]). The Deselect button drops the current selection (same as Delete / Ctrl+D; enabled only while there is an unsaved selection)
A selection shows up as a + New Layer item at the top of the layer list; at first a bar offering to save it as a layer also appears at the top of the canvas
MEDIUM: head, arms (recommended default) / LARGE: torso, background elements
Larger sizes (HUGE / GIANT / MEGA …) appear automatically for large images
Toolbar options
Add/Subtract mode: Subtract mode or Alt key shows (−) on cursor
Smart Erase: Erase automatically preserves structural lines bordering remaining fill and removes orphan lines — no setting needed
Line-art refine (on by default): expands the mask out to the line-art edges. Turn off to keep the raw mask without expansion
Credits: 400 hover units accumulated = 10 credits. Units accrue in proportion to mask size (√area).
4.3 Pixel Cutout B/E
Use — Hand-fix the tiny areas the AI missed or over-grabbed. e.g. add a few stray hair-tip pixels with B, remove background caught by mistake with E.
Manually add (B) or remove (E) mask pixels. Used to correct AI segmentation. Radius 1–200 px. [/] or scroll to resize.
4.4 Pen Cutout P
Use — For precise straight or smooth-curve boundaries. e.g. cut an angular prop (sword, glasses) or a clean garment silhouette with Bézier paths.
Draw precise selections with Bézier curves.
Click: add anchor / Drag: adjust handles
Click a segment: add an anchor / drag an anchor: move it / delete an anchor: right-click it, Del with the cursor on it, or a long press on touch. Clicking an open path's first anchor closes it; dragging from its last anchor redraws its handles
The anchor, handle or segment nearest the cursor is picked, within 10 screen px for a mouse and 16 for a pen or touch, at any zoom
Enter: apply / Esc: cancel / Del: delete the anchor under the cursor (else the last one)
Toolbar modes: Add / Subtract / Replace
Auto Add/Delete: toggle (on by default) — off, a segment click adds nothing and a segment takes an anchor with Alt+click
Convert Point: toggle — switch corner↔smooth without Alt
4.5 Color Cutout C
Use — Select flat, uniform-color regions in one shot. e.g. grab a solid background or an evenly-colored piece of clothing with a single click.
Add/remove mask based on color similarity. Tolerance 0–128 / Contiguous checkbox (on by default).
Toolbar Add / Subtract modes. In either mode, right-click (or Alt+click) always deselects
Click the background, keep the object — with nothing selected yet, Subtract on the background selects everything except that color. Keep clicking to remove additional background colors
Invert button — grab the background with Add, then invert to keep only the object (the same order as Photoshop's Ctrl+Shift+I)
Automatic fringe cleanup — with Contiguous on, Subtract and Invert also carve back the thin fringe left between the background and the line art, using the lines themselves as the wall
4.6 Lineart Cutout A
Use — Pull just the line art (lines) into its own layer. e.g. extract outlines and interior lines as a separate Live2D line-art layer.
Selects only the line art inside the brushed area. No AI (SAM) — fast, ideal for line-focused work.
Keeps only the largest line cluster per stroke (detached islands auto-excluded)
Accumulates across strokes. Right-click / right-drag to deselect
Toolbar Select / Deselect modes — Deselect removes only the line art under the brush; colored areas stay selected
Existing selection is preserved — a mask made with another tool is left untouched, and the brightness filter applies only to the line art this tool picked
Brightness filter (dual min/max slider): includes only line pixels within the range — applied instantly
Automatic direction tracking: lines that diverge sharply from the drag direction are auto-excluded, so only the intended line is followed
Credits: each Select stroke accrues gauge (same model as Smart Cutout, 400 units = 10 credits). Deselect is free.
Restore Background
Use — a background layer without the character. E.g. select the character, then Restore Background paints the scene behind it as the PSD's bottom layer.
Erases the current selection and paints the background behind it with AI, adding a background layer at the bottom. The original picture and the selection stay, so you can still save the selection as the character's layer. With no selection it tells you how to make one. On a one-colour page the area is filled with that colour, without AI. On a large picture, where the painted area could come out soft, the confirm also offers a high-resolution correction (Topaz) for 25 credits per 24 MP of output, refunded if it cannot run.
Credits: by the selection's size — 30 credits per megapixel (min 30, max 150), 2 credits on a one-colour page; refunded if it fails.
4.7 Zoom Z
Use — Zoom and pan for detailed work. e.g. magnify to precisely click tiny parts like an eye highlight.
Click: zoom in / Alt+click: zoom out (clicking the empty margin around the image works too) / scroll: zoom around pointer
The zoom follows how far the wheel turns, so a trackpad pinch stays smooth
Toolbar: Fit / 100% / − zoom % + buttons. 100% and −/+ zoom around the centre of the view
Ctrl+0: fit / Ctrl+1: 100% / Space+drag or middle-button drag: pan (it can start on the empty margin too)
On a Mac, Cmd works in place of Ctrl (Cmd+wheel, Cmd+0, …)
Keyboard zoom applies to the view you are looking at — the layer preview while the pointer is over it, the layer canvas on a Layer tab, otherwise the original canvas
Tools without a size setting, such as Color and Pen Cutout, zoom on a plain scroll
When zoomed in, you can pan the image edge all the way to the middle of the screen
4.8 Undo / Reset Masks
Use — Step back a mistake or start over. e.g. Ctrl+Z a wrongly committed mask; press Del to restart the selection from scratch.
Use — Export the finished layers. e.g. save a layered PSD for rigging, or grab all parts as individual PNGs.
Download PSD: all layers as a PSD file with masks and names preserved; groups are saved as folders. For paid members — before a purchase an account can download one PSD, and one purchase unlocks it for good (PNG downloads are open to all)
Spine-ready PSD (groups become bones): tick it in the download window and every group folder is saved with a [bone] tag. Open the file with Import PSD in Spine 4.2 or later and the bones follow your anysplit groups (nested groups → nested bones). Each bone is placed at the centre of its group's first layer, so move the joints in Spine. Square brackets [ ] in layer names become parentheses, and repeated names get a number such as _2. The choice is remembered.
Download All PNG: all layers as individual PNG files in one batch. Each PNG holds only the area its layer covers; the layers' positions in the picture are kept in the PSD
Vector SVG: the first button, shown only when you uploaded an SVG (vector mode, 4.10). Vector mode has no PNG batch; you get the vector SVG and the PSD
You can change the file name in the download window. The download button also works on a Layer tab
2 credits per download
4.10 Vector mode (SVG)
Use — Split vector artwork into a per-part vector SVG you can rig straight away in Rive or Figma. e.g. upload a character SVG, run Auto Body Split, fix the parts with Shape select on their layer tabs, then download the vector SVG.
Uploading an SVG file turns on vector mode, and a Vector mode chip appears at the top of the sidebar. Layers are made of the shapes inside the SVG, and the canvas, the Layer tab, the preview and the thumbnails are all drawn as vectors. The picture is shown at the size the SVG declares, so shoes or hats drawn outside the viewBox are not cut off.
Selections are whole shapes — on the Original tab, Smart Cutout and Pen take the shapes they cover by at least half; Color Cutout takes every shape it touches. The selection shows as a blue fill with marching ants along the shapes' edges, and a layer saved from it holds exactly those shapes. The layers the picked shapes currently sit in are marked in the preview and the layer list
Selection edges snap — where a Smart Cutout or Pen selection edge runs within 3 px of a shape's edge, it follows the shape's edge; where it strays further, the shape is cut along the selection's outline like the knife and saved in that cut shape (a long outline shape that is only partly covered goes in only as far as you selected). Undo and redo keep the cut shape
Fixing parts happens on the Layer tab — open a layer and use Shape select to pick the picture's shapes and put them in · copy them into · take them out of this layer (5.9)
Auto Body Split — shapes held in a hand whose colour differs from the hand (props) go to the objects layer, and layers left empty after the split are removed. Each part gets the outline around it wrapped evenly, and a line between two parts goes into both layers. The split comes out the same in every browser
Hidden tools — tools whose painted pixels cannot become shapes are not shown: Pixel Cutout, Lineart Cutout (use the brush of Shape select on a Layer tab instead), Restore Background, Brush · Clone Stamp · Smudge · Eraser · Magic Eraser · Lasso, Content Fill · Inpainting, Lineart, colour adjust, feather and edge colour clean-up. The Layer tab shows vector tools instead (5.9)
SVG output button (the feather's place on the tab bar) — Overlap: how far the two pieces of a shape split between parts reach under each other, so a turned joint shows no gap / Simplify: refit whole shapes with fewer points (cut edges stay exact). On a Layer tab there is also Hidden areas, which lays the parts drawn above this layer over it see-through
Undo — Put in, Copy, Take out, knife cuts and look changes are undone with the sidebar's undo and Ctrl+Z / Ctrl+Shift+Z (up to 50 steps)
Vector SVG download — each part becomes a group, layer folders become nested groups, and the layer order is the drawing order
Credits: 2 credits per vector SVG download. Auto Body Split and Smart Cutout cost the same as for any image; the vector layer tools (Shape select, Look) are free.
5. Layer Tab Tools
Double-click a layer in the layer list to open the Layer tab. The Background button in the top toolbar switches the canvas backdrop between checkerboard / white / black / original image — white and black reveal stray pixels that are hard to spot on transparency alone, and Original image shows the source underneath the layer you are editing. O toggles between the original image and the previous backdrop.
5.1 Brush B
Use — Fill or touch up color on a layer after separation. e.g. paint over a hole left when a part was pulled out, using the surrounding color.
Paint pixels with a solid color. Color: color picker. Size (diameter): 1–400 px ([/] or scroll).
Brush chip — click the chip in the toolbar that draws the current tip to open Hardness (how crisp the edge is), Opacity (the most one stroke can cover — overlapping within a stroke never goes past it) and Flow (how fast paint builds up as you go over a spot), with a sample stroke that shows the result. The eraser and smudge have the same chip
Smoothing — 0–100. The higher it is, the more the brush trails the pointer, so even a mouse draws steady, smooth lines. When the pointer stops the brush catches up; releasing the button ends the stroke where the brush is. 0 turns it off. Only the brush, eraser and smudge tools have it, and the three share one value
The cursor's inner ring is the hard core (size × hardness); for the brush it is tinted with the current color and opacity
Smooth edges — dabs land at the cursor's exact position, between pixels too, and even at 100% hardness the 1 px rim is anti-aliased, as in Photoshop. The eraser and clone stamp work the same way. [/] and the wheel change the size by about 10% per step
Keys (as in Photoshop): 1–0 opacity 10–100% (smudge: strength) / Shift+1–0 flow / Shift+[ · Shift+] hardness −/+10%. The new value shows next to the cursor for a moment
Paint in
Paint in on the brush, clone stamp and smudge toolbars limits where a stroke lands.
Anywhere — no limit (default)
This layer's shape — changes the color of pixels already there and never paints on transparent ones (Photoshop's "lock transparent pixels")
Inside another layer — paints only inside the shape of the layer you pick (a hand-made clipping mask)
With "Inside another layer", the area you can paint shows on the canvas as a sky-blue dashed outline, and the chosen layer is marked in sky blue in the layer list
5.1b Clone Stamp S
Use — Cover blemishes or holes by cloning from a clean area (same as Photoshop's Clone Stamp). e.g. copy nearby texture to fill smudges or gaps left after separating a part.
Alt+click to set a source point, then drag elsewhere to copy the source pixels there. The source follows your cursor at the same offset and is shown by a crosshair marker. Size (diameter): 1–400 px ([/] or scroll). Transparent areas are not copied.
5.2 Smudge R
Use — Smear boundaries or color to blend and stretch. e.g. stretch a hair edge naturally to close a gap.
Drag surrounding pixels to create a smear effect. Strength 0–100% / Hardness 0–100% / Size (diameter) 1–400 px. Strength and hardness are set in the toolbar's brush chip (1–0: strength), and the Paint in limit applies (5.1).
5.3 Eraser E
Use — Precisely erase layer pixels. e.g. wipe stray pixels stuck to a part and clean up the edge.
Photoshop-compatible parameters: Hardness / Opacity / Flow 0–100%. Size (diameter) 1–400 px. Tablet pen pressure auto-detected. Hardness, opacity and flow are set in the toolbar's brush chip (same keys as 5.1).
5.4 Magic Eraser Shift+E
Use — Delete similar-color regions in one click. e.g. remove leftover solid background behind a part.
Flood-fill eraser that deletes similar pixels in one click. Great for solid-color backgrounds.
Tolerance: 0–128, default 32
Contiguous / Anti-alias checkboxes
5.4b Lasso L
Use — Cut part of a layer and move it elsewhere. e.g. nudge a slightly misplaced finger or accessory into place.
Works like Photoshop's Lasso + Move tools. Available on a layer tab.
Outline: a click adds a corner (polygon), press and drag draws freehand. Drawn in one drag, it closes on release; started with clicks, close it by clicking the first point, double-clicking or pressing Enter
Shift+click: 45° edges · Backspace / Ctrl+Z: take back the last piece · Esc: drop the outline
Move: drag inside the selection to cut and move; Alt+drag moves a copy; Shift keeps it horizontal, vertical or 45°. Arrow keys 1 px (Shift 10 px)
Resize: drag one of the four corner handles of a closed selection — the ratio is kept (Shift: free, Alt: about the center). [ / ] shrink / grow it by 5% (Shift: 1%) about the center. Rotation is not supported
Enter (Apply), Ctrl+D (Deselect), a click outside, or switching tool / layer puts the pixels down. Esc puts them back. One move is one Ctrl+Z
Delete: clear the selected pixels (with no selection it deletes the layer, as before)
New layer: Ctrl+J (copy) / Ctrl+Shift+J (cut), the toolbar buttons, or right-click on the selection. A name box opens with "<name> copy / cut" filled in (Enter keeps it; a name already used gets a number), then the layer is made right above the original (same group) and opened. Undo a cut with Ctrl+Z on the original layer; remove the new layer by deleting it
Anything moved past the canvas edge is cut off
5.5 Content Fill Shift+I
Use — Quickly, cheaply restore a small hidden area from surrounding texture. e.g. fill a small bit of torso that was behind the arm using the nearby cloth pattern.
Fills masked area with surrounding texture (OpenCV). Paint the mask, then click Fill.
2 credits per use
5.6 Inpainting I
Use — Have the AI draw in the parts hidden behind the layers in front. e.g. the top of a sleeve under a pauldron, a thigh under a skirt.
Select a layer and press Fill: the AI works out what the layer is and what covers it, and draws only the hidden part. The description is written automatically, so there is no prompt to type. Your image is sent to Google (Gemini API) and, when needed, to Replicate (FLUX Fill) — ⓘ External send in the toolbar opens the Data Handling Summary.
Fill area shown up front — when the tool opens, the area that will be sent to the AI is shown in translucent red (the border with the layers in front and its surroundings). Adjust it with the Add / Subtract brush (blank only, size), then press Fill. Your edited area is remembered per layer
To fill a place with no layer in front (a hole, say), paint it and press Fill
A credit confirmation appears on every press, and a progress bar shows while it runs
Filling a face layer under the hair draws a bald head shape (skin where the eyes were)
When most of the area lies over a neighbour of the same material (hair over hair, say), or Gemini refuses or copies the original scene, FLUX Fill fills it instead
Choosing the result — Blend / Gemini only / Mix
After a fill, a [Blend | Gemini only] switch and a Mix button appear in the toolbar. Switching is free, with no new generation, and both results are kept for 30 minutes.
Blend: the originally visible part stays as it was; only the hidden part comes from the generated image (default)
Gemini only: the whole layer from the generated image — no seams, but the visible part is redrawn too
Mix (on / off): the result shown becomes the base, and a left drag (sky blue) paints the other result where you brush; a right drag (orange) brings the base back there. Turned on from Blend you paint the Gemini-only result, from Gemini only you paint the blend. Turning it off keeps the mix as it is, and turning it on again carries on. Handy for fixing just a visible seam
Results filled by FLUX Fill have no switch
What was drawn H
After a fill, the area it drew (new pixels and repainted ones alike) is outlined with a moving dotted line. The red fill area is a limit, not a promise: the result can stop short of it (it follows the picture) or reach past it, and the outline shows exactly how far it went, so you can blend the edge with Smudge and the like. It does not tint the picture, and it follows the result you switch to or brush in with Mix. It stays while you change tools; hide or show it with the dashed-box button in the toolbar or H. When you are done, press ✓ Finish next to it — the outline and the result switch close together. Going to the Original tab, selecting or opening another layer, a new fill or undoing the fill finish it too.
30 credits per use (refunded if it fails)
5.7 Soft edges / Feather (display effect) F
Use — Soften a mask edge into semi-transparency. e.g. make a hair or sheer-hem edge blend naturally so the cutout is not obvious.
Feather is not an editing tool — it's a global display effect. Press the Feather button (🪶) in the layer-tab top toolbar to turn it on; an opacity-slider popover opens so you can set the strength (0–100%, default 50%). When on, layer edges are softened in the editing canvas, preview, and PSD export, and the effect persists regardless of the active tool. Press again to turn off. Toggle with F. The same feather is also applied to Download all PNGs.
Clean edge colour in the same popover (on by default; off by default for line art with clear outlines — a choice you make for a picture is kept) removes the original backdrop colour mixed into each layer's outermost pixels (e.g. a blue rim) and keeps the soft edge as transparency. Only edges against backdrop that belongs to no layer are cleaned; where a layer meets another layer (e.g. the eyes and the face) the edge is left as it is. It is a display effect applied to the preview, the layer view and the PNG / PSD export.
5.8 Lineart
Use — Extract line art as a separate file to reuse. e.g. export a whole-image line-art PNG, or per-part line-art as a ZIP for rigging or recoloring.
Source lineart: extract lineart from the full image → PNG download
Layer lineart: extract lineart per part → ZIP download
The extracted lines carry the original's brightness, so each line keeps its own darkness for a natural-looking line art
10 credits per use
5.9 Vector-mode layer tools (SVG)
Use — Fix a part (layer) shape by shape: what the brushes do on a raster layer, these tools do in vector mode. e.g. pick a sleeve wrongly in the hand from the topwear tab and Put it in, cut a sleeve with the knife and put it into handwear, or thin the lines of a whole part.
In vector mode (4.10) the Layer tab has the three tools below. Every action works on the layer that is open.
Shape select — picks shapes anywhere in the picture. While it is on, the canvas background switches to the original image, so shapes this layer does not hold can be seen and picked.
Click: select one shape / click again or right-click: deselect. With Same colour on, every shape of that colour is taken at once
A drag is the Brush: every shape it passes over is selected as a whole (Alt+drag or a right-button drag removes). It picks the shapes this layer shows; a stroke over nothing of the layer picks the picture's shapes there
Put in: into this layer; they leave every other layer (a knife cut: only its inside)
Copy: into this layer too; the layers that hold them keep them (a knife cut: only its inside overlaps here — e.g. just a sleeve's end also in the hand layer)
Take out: out of this layer only; other layers keep the shape (a knife cut's inside too leaves this layer only)
New layer…: makes a layer of the selection (a knife cut: its inside), right above this one
To move shapes to another layer, open that layer's tab and press Put in: they leave the old layer by themselves
Knife — draw a closed line over the picture to select only what lies inside it; the shapes it crosses are cut along it. Its toolbar's Put in · Copy · Take out · New layer… work as in Shape select, on the inside only (the "knife cut" rules in brackets above). A click clears the line. Like Shape select, it shows the original image under the layer while it is on
Look — picks this layer's shapes only (click · Same colour · All) and changes the fill colour · line colour · line width (10–400%) · opacity. The new look goes into the vector SVG; the PSD keeps the original colours. A shape several layers share, like an outline, changes in those layers too
6. Right Panel
6.1 Layer Preview (top)
Shows the selected layer composited alone. The Background button switches between transparent (checkerboard) / white / black. Hover to show the layer name; double-click to select that layer item.
Scroll over the preview to zoom it and drag (or middle-button drag) to move it. The zoom (%) button in its header shows the current zoom; click it to fit the preview back into the panel (Ctrl+0 over the preview does the same).
6.2 Layer List (bottom tab)
Name, visibility, delete, reorder. Mask boundaries shown as marching ants (animated dashes). At 200% zoom or less the pixel steps are smoothed into slopes (within half a pixel); zoomed in further, the ants follow the exact pixel edges.
Anatomy of a layer item
Each row in the list is one layer. From left to right: the eye icon (visibility toggle — drag across rows to apply continuously) · thumbnail · name (in the form #index: name — the index is the stacking order from bottom to top, so a higher number is higher = front) · ⋯ button. Layers inside a group (folder) are indented to show membership, and the selected row is highlighted.
Unsaved (+ New Layer) item — before a mask is committed as a layer, it appears at the top of the list as a + New Layer row. Click it to name and save (same as Enter); the × on the right discards it.
List operations
Click: select / Double-click: open Layer tab / Drag: reorder
Clicking a layer moves the preview above to where that layer is
Ctrl+click: toggle individual selection / Shift+click: range select. With several layers selected, the Original tab's current selection becomes the union of those layers
Ctrl+[/Ctrl+]: move layer up/down
Eye icon: toggle visibility (drag to apply continuously)
Merge Layers: active when 2+ layers selected. Stacks them bottom to top into one layer, like Photoshop's merge (a soft stroke on an upper layer no longer punches a hole in the one below). Hidden layers are left out. A blend mode shared by all is kept; mixed modes are baked into the layers beneath (you are told first). Undo it within an hour from the notice's Undo or the footer's ⋯ → Undo merge (not once the layers have changed)
Subtract visible (footer ⋯ menu): removes all visible layers' masks from the current mask
Auto-sort (footer ⋯ menu): automatically orders layers front-to-back (Z-order) from the line shapes where they meet (T-junctions), shadows & occlusion (free, needs 2+ layers). Undoable
Focus mode: shows only the eye-on (visible) layers sharply on the main canvas so you can cut out on them. Toggle with the Focus button in the footer bar
Hidden layers and the transparent background disappear (checkerboard shows through; a layer occluded from above is revealed below)
While focused, Smart Cutout predicts from the visible layers and hard-clips the result to the focus region
Groups (folders): select layers, then New group to make a folder. Importing a PSD keeps its original folders, clipping and stacking order; exported PSDs keep the folder structure, so Live2D/Cubism reads them as part folders
Add: drag layers onto a group header (or reorder into the group) / Remove: the layer's ⋯ menu → 'remove from group', or drag it out of the group
Header: ▾ collapse/expand / click the header = select the whole group, click it again = deselect (Ctrl+click adds or removes it) / double-click the name = rename / × = ungroup / eye icon = show/hide the whole group
Merge group: the merge button on the group header merges the group's visible layers into one layer named after the group. Hidden layers stay in the group, and it can be undone like a merge
Drag the group bar to move the whole group together. Groups can nest inside groups
Footer buttons — show/hide all · focus · new group · merge · delete · ⋯ more (auto-sort layers · adjust color · subtract visible layers · undo merge while one is available).
Adjust color (footer ⋯) — changes the hue, saturation and brightness of the selected layers at once (dozens of finely split hair layers, say). The targets are the layer-list selection (click a group header for the whole group); the Layer Preview shows the result live (scroll on it to zoom). Ctrl+Z right after applying undoes it in one step.
⋯ layer actions menu
The ⋯ button on each layer row (or right-click the row) opens the actions menu for that one layer. From top to bottom:
Rename — change the layer's name.
Split into line / color layers — divides the layer into a Line (top) and Color (bottom) layer bundled into a folder named after the original. The color layer auto-fills where the lines were with surrounding color, so you can edit the lines separately or rig line/color apart in Live2D. (Shown only on layers that have pixels — not on layers already split into line/color.)
Remove from group — takes the layer out of the folder it currently belongs to. (Shown only on layers inside a group.)
Subtract this layer area from current mask — removes the area this layer occupies from the mask you are currently editing. Handy for cleaning up overlaps.
Delete — deletes the layer. If multiple layers are selected, deletes the whole selection together.
Layer name templates
Under the layer name box (save, rename, merge, lasso new layer) you can click a template's name to fill it in. Useful when a naming convention is set once and applied to many characters, as in game Spine/Live2D work.
Templates: Basic (auto split part names) · Spine example · Live2D example · your own
Left / Right: add or remove the template's side mark (e.g. _L / _R)
Typing filters the names; recently used names show on top; names already used by a layer are dashed
Manage templates: new · duplicate · delete. One name per line; a # title line starts a group. Duplicate a built-in one to change it
Export / Import: save a template as a file (.json) to share with your team; a text file with one name per line also imports. Templates are stored in this browser
Tip: keep a _ or a space before the side mark (arm_L, hair back) so Generative Fill recognises the part; ArmL is not recognised

On the Studio plan you can create a team where multiple members share a single credit pool.
Where to find it: Settings (top-right) → Team management in the left menu (next to Subscription, Coupon, Help). This item is shown only to Studio subscribers and team members.
Create a team: only Studio subscribers can create one; the creator becomes the owner.
Invite members: share the invite link from the team screen. Anyone with the link can join; regenerating it immediately invalidates the old link. If someone without an anysplit account opens the link, they're prompted to log in / sign up and join the team automatically once done.
Who can join: only free (Trial) accounts can join via an invite link. If you already have a paid subscription (Basic/Pro/Studio), you must cancel your own subscription first to avoid double billing.
Shared credits: every member's credit usage is deducted from the owner's pool. On a member's screen the header badge shows TEAM, credits show the shared balance, and the plan in Settings also shows TEAM.
Members don't need an individual plan: when a member opens upgrade / pricing, a team-member notice appears instead of the pricing screen. Plan and credit changes are made by the owner.
Managing members (owner): the member list shows each member's email and usage this cycle, and lets you remove members.
Leaving: a member can leave the team at any time. On leaving they return to a free account, and any purchased credit packs are preserved (subscription / free credits are cleared).
Dissolving: if the owner cancels the Studio subscription, the team is dissolved and all members are detached automatically.
An invite link grants access to the shared credit pool, so share it only with people you trust. If a link leaks, regenerate it to revoke it immediately.
10. Ask AI (Annie)
Settings → Chat with Annie. Answers questions about features, pricing, and troubleshooting.
Engine: Gemini 2.5 Flash / max 2048 tokens per response / 20 recent messages retained

11. Tips
Match Box Size to the part: single hair strand → TINY / finger → SMALL / arm → MEDIUM / full coat → LARGE
Rough edges? Use Eraser (E) at 30–50% opacity for a natural result
Solid-color backgrounds: Magic Eraser (Shift+E) is fastest. Try tolerance 24–48 first
Fill hidden areas behind parts: Inpainting (I) — check the red fill area and press Fill; the description is written automatically. If a seam shows, use Mix to brush in the Gemini-only result there
12. FAQ
12.1 Are images stored on the server?
No. Data is held only in memory/cache for the 30-minute session TTL, then immediately deleted. Download your results before the session expires.
12.2 Who owns the output?
You do, entirely. Commercial use is permitted. You are responsible for ensuring the original image you upload does not infringe third-party copyright.
12.3 Can I share an account with my team?
Sharing a single login is not allowed (one person per account; shared accounts may be suspended). To share credits with a team, use the Studio plan's team feature (§9.2) — everyone signs in with their own account and only the credit pool is shared.
12.4 Can I generate images from text prompts?
No. anysplit is a layer-splitting editor for images you upload. The only prompt input is in Inpainting, which fills empty areas in existing layers.
12.5 Do unused credits roll over?
Subscription credits reset to your plan's monthly amount on each renewal and do not roll over. Separately purchased credit packs are permanent.
12.6 Can I export as PNG?
Yes. In the download popup, choose Download All PNG to save every layer as an individual PNG file. In vector mode (an uploaded SVG) you get the vector SVG and the PSD instead of the PNG batch.
12.7 Pen pressure works in my drawing app but not in anysplit
Browsers can only read pressure through Windows Ink; they do not support WinTab, the path drawing apps use. Turn on "Use Windows Ink" in your tablet driver settings (Wacom Center and similar) and restart the browser. This is not specific to any one browser. anysplit shows a hint when it detects a pen whose pressure never varies.
For more questions — Live2D & Spine rigging, automatic layer separation, filling occluded areas — see the full FAQ page.
